Austin, TX (June 17, 2009) – Advanced EDR Systems, LLC, a developer of technology solutions that promote safety and efficiency on roads and highways, demonstrated its value proposition to the nation’s taxi fleet operators over the spring when police used the envisionCAM to arrest a man who was allegedly responsible for a string of taxi cab robberies.
Killeen Police later arrested the man, who was believed to be responsible for that crime as well as three other robberies involving taxi cabs, and are holding him on $500,000 bond. They also, according to the television station, encouraged other such businesses to install vehicle-mounted security cameras. “It is very gratifying to see the envisionCAM help police apprehend someone, who might do harm to taxi cab drivers,” said Daniel D’Agostino, President of Advanced EDR Systems, LLC. “While security cameras in taxis and other business vehicles promote safety, the envisionCAM also generates economic benefits for taxi fleet owners.” First launched in 2007, envisionCAM customers have reported: • a 30 percent reduction in car accidents, within the first year. Employees drive more cautiously when they know they are being monitored. • a 95 percent reduction in wrongly accused “at fault” accidents. Fleet owners are frequently a target for frivolous lawsuits. With envisionCAM, there is always visual proof. Another economic benefit to taxi cab companies and other fleet-related businesses is that there are no monthly fees, or subscription costs. |
